Hosting Thanksgiving in Your New Home!

Thanksgiving is going to be BIG this year, even more so than usual because you are not only hosting, but showing off your new house to your family and friends. This will be your first big event in your new home and you couldn't be more excited. There are a few tips you can follow that can help make your life easier while trying to host Thanksgiving in your new home. The best real estate agent at the Lake of the Ozarks is here give those tips.

Hosting Thanksgiving in Your New Home

Tip # 1: Organize, organize, organize

Have everything planned out ahead of time, so you are able to socialize and be a good hosts to your guests the day of the big event. Have you ever walked into a grocery store thinking you know what to buy for a big Thanksgiving dinner, but then you end up forgetting a key ingredient? Don't do that to yourself this year. Write everything you need down ahead of time and give yourself plenty of time to get the groceries before you have to start pre-cooking and preparing your big Thanksgiving feast. The key here is to have your groceries gathered ahead of time, so you're not last minute shopping and stressing out on a day you should be celebrating.

Tip # 2: Make your casseroles in advance

Don't overwhelm yourself by thinking you have to start everything from scratch the day of Thanksgiving (or whenever you and your family have decided to celebrate Thanksgiving). Prep cook! Casseroles can be prepared and ready to throw in the oven ahead of time. You can also chop up any vegetables you want to cook with ahead of time. If you know the actual feast won't be ready when your family members and friends arrive, have some appetizers ready to go. You can make dips the day before and store in your refrigerator. Fruit trays can be stored in your refrigerator as well. If you have all of this in your refrigerator the day before, you can simply pull everything out a few minutes before your guests and family members arrive and you're set. No HANGRY guests!

Tip # 3: Present your NEW decorations

You have a new home and you most likely have NEW decorations that go with the holiday and also accent your new home's features. Show them off! Try to decorate your place the night before, so you're not running around at the last minute trying to throw everything together. Some people probably keep their house decorated for Thanksgiving for the first 3 weeks leading up to the big day. If you are one of those people, great! If not, prepare your decorations the morning before.
