The actual price of the home is not the only price to consider. Make sure you consider the utilities, HOA or condo fees, property taxes, insurance, etc.
Renting out your vacation home comes with expenses too. You will need to pay for cleaning between tenants, advertising, and probably property management as well.
If you aren't able to visit your second home often, make sure someone does. A water leak, for example, could be devastating if it goes unchecked for an extended period of time.
