Willmore Lodge

This historic log building was finished in 1930 for Union Electric. It was engineered by Stone and Webster Engineering Cooroperation. It was designed by Louis La Beaume, a noted St. Louis architect, and partner of the architecture firm of La Beaume and Klein. Wilmore Lodge is the Bagnell Dam History Museum. It holds some of the rich history behind how the Bagnell Dam came to be.  This make s for a great, FREE activity to bring your family to, to experience. Enrich your minds and learn more about the history of the Lake of the Ozarks.


Thunder Mountain Conservation Area


This beautiful stretch of land surrounds Bridal Cave. It spreads over more than a mile of the Lake of the Ozarks shoreline and holds some of the most spectacular views. Thunder Mountain Park was established in 1950 in order to protect the caves within it. Many people may not know, but there are actually 11 caves within Thunder Mountain Park. This includes Bear Cave, which is found along a half mile, lakeside nature trail. Thunder Mountain park holds many fascinating plant and animal communities. It also holds:

  • a 100-foot tall fire tower with a viewing platform at 80 feet
  • picnic facilities
  • 3/4 mile nature trail
  • a visitors center

Camden County Museum


The Camden Country Historial Society and Museum are located in Linn Creek, MO. It's open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. This museum holds artifacts from the historic towns of:

  • Camdenton
  • Laurie
  • Mack Creek
  • Montreal
  • Osage Beach
  • Richland
  • Sunrise Beach
  • Stoutland

...and all around the Camden County area. This free museum also holds some rich history behind the Lake of the Ozarks and would make for a memorable activity to enjoy with your family.
